Not Every Winner Gets a Trophy

 Here at Sunbelt Trophy in Thomasville, GA, we earn our living by helping our customers recognize all kinds of excellence demonstrated by their friends, family, teammates and co-workers. We’re all familiar with the trophies and awards given to Outstanding Scholars, Athletes and even to Participants who just “Suit Up and Show Up”. But all of our communities have many youngsters who have never had the opportunity to participate in team sports, and therefore, never get to experience the joy of being recognized for their efforts. We have one of those youngsters in our Sunbelt Trophy Family too. He suffers from a long list of disabilities that keep him wheelchair-bound and unable to communicate with others or even to feed and care for himself. While attending school is important to his quality of life, it is an unbelievable and indescribable challenge for him and his entire family. A few years ago, we decided to give him a trophy to recognize the completion of another school year. On second thought, we decided that it wouldn’t be a problem to donate a trophy or a medal to each child in his Special Needs class. After seeing the joy that these children felt from this small effort on our part, we started on the journey that has changed our lives forever. The next year, we donated awards to every special needs student in his entire school. The year after that, we expanded the program to include several other schools in our region. With the help of the gofundme community and the vast power of social networking, we’d like to expand this program beyond our local community. We have a growing list of awards that we can produce and ship for under $3.00 in materials along with our donated time and labor producing, packaging and shipping them. On average, for $125 – $150 we can ship a package of 50 trophies or medals to any school. Larger donations ($150 minimum) can be targeted to the school, class or other group of your choosing and also include several awards for the angels who teach these precious children. Smaller donations will go into a general fund and bundled into 50 piece packages.
